Case endings on verbs
In some languages with nominal case marking, the case affix attaches directly1 to the verb stem or inflected (finite) verb.2
Types:
NoCase: The language does not have case marking.
NoVCase: Nouns show case marking, but case affixes are never attached directly to verb stems or inflected (finite) verbs.
VCase: Nouns show case marking; case affixes attach directly to verb stems, but not to finite verbs.
VFCase: Nouns show case marking; case affixes attach directly to finite verbs, but not to verb stems.
VCaseVFCase: Nouns show case marking; case affixes attach directly to verb stems and finite verbs.
1: Therefore, examples in which a nominalizer appears between the verb form and the case marking should be excluded from consideration. This also applies to other derivational suffixes that form a nonfinite from the verb.
